About the event

PLEASE NOTE - this is our first 'hybrid' meeting. You can choose whether to attend in person or online.

Also please note that this event will finish slightly earlier than usual at 8.45, as Bristol Humanists AGM will immediately follow.

=== Documentary maker Andrew Gold (BBC, HBO) explores the driving forces behind extreme belief through tribal urges, cognitive biases and our responses to threat.

Having travelled the world and learned to speak five languages, he has been locked in a cupboard by an abusive exorcist, and done the school run with a fervent pro-lifer known as the Crazy Baby Lady.

He has hunted for UFOs with people who believe in an underground civilization from the fifth dimension, and interviewed sex offenders whose cognitive biases make them the heroes of their own stories.

Today, he talks to extreme personalities on his podcast, On the Edge with Andrew Gold.
