About the event

Join us for an evening of celebration as we welcome the Spring; a season where day and night become equal, with the light brightening, new life emerges after winter mating and fresh foodstuffs became plentiful.
There will be:
A presentation and short films on the science of spring with Karen Partridge, wildlife filmmaker and humanist celebrant, plus lots more:
– spring-themed music and poetry
– an exploration of spring festivals and rituals across the globe and through the centuries
– a chance to chat in smaller groups, with a ‘show and tell’ where you can bring flowers, animals, food, anything that brings you joy in springtime!
A highlight of the event will be Karen Partridge, Bristol-based wildlife filmmaker, member of Bristol Humanists and a humanist celebrant, showing films and talking about the ‘science of spring’. Karen says ‘For as long as I can remember I’ve had a passion for the natural world. It led me to study zoology at university and into a career in natural history television.’ Karen has worked for BBC TV and Radio 4, National Geographic and The Discovery Channel.
Finally, as we look forward to emerging from this pandemic, charge your glasses! We’ll be proposing multiple toasts to Spring!
This event is online with Zoom. We would love you to join us. Please email bristolhumanists@gmail.com and we will send you the link.
The event is free to members, we ask others to make a voluntary contribution of £3/£1.
